The Vacancy Project held its first organizing meeting on June 24, 2026, co-sponsored by Petaluma Urban Chat and Renaissance Petaluma.
Property owners, neighbors, business owners, and public officials gathered to look at the block-by-block map of downtown’s vacant sites and to start shaping a shared action plan: reducing bureaucracy, investing in infrastructure, developing new funding mechanisms, and remediating the environmental barriers that keep sites idle.
