Tyler Building, a vacant property in downtown Petaluma

The Tyler Building is on the southeast corner of Petaluma Boulevard North and Washington Street, at one of the busiest intersections in the heart of Petaluma. This historic building has been vacant on and off for years, and is vacant again as of 2025. The property is permitted for use as a store and residential units.

A commercial tenant was issued a permit on October 9, 2025 for a proposed coffee shop (Sana’a Cafe),  but no coffee shop is yet open. The storefront windows have been papered over for several months, suggesting some activity inside. (A permit for ground floor modifications on the Water Street side of the building was issued on February 3, 2026.)
